The Director General of the Algerian National Office of Copyright and Neighbouring Rights (ONIDA), Sami Bencheikh, signed a memorandum of understanding with Yan Jian Hong, the Director General of the National Copyright Administration of China (NCAC). The signing of the MOU followed WIPO’s request to Algeria to provide assistance to China’s new administration in this respect. According to Bencheikh, China has its own traditions in the fields of editorial and broadcasting, but it still is in its beginnings in copyright protection.
