Deputy Head Examiner at the Jordan trade mark office, Mr Khalid Tawalbeh, provided practice guidance on choosing goods and services when filing local trade mark applications claiming priority to Paris Convention filings. It is no longer a requirement to file the local trade mark application claiming identical goods or services as those listed in the priority application or registration. However, the goods and services must remain within the scope of those claimed in the priority application or registration. An official notice from the trade mark office has not been issued.
