The Omani Intellectual Property Office (IPO), forming part of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, has decreased trade mark publication fees in Oman. The Trade Mark Office has reduced publication fees to US$130. This reduction applies to the publication of trade mark filings, renewals, assignments, licenses and mergers, and took effect on June 1, 2023.

The IPO also announced that it would allow fee reductions for certain additional patent and trade mark services, including for the inspection of official records. Further news is awaited.

It is worth noting that the fee reductions came within the context of the Sultanate’s digitization project announced in 2022. The project aims to reduce costs and improve service offerings within the Sultanate, in line with digitization taking place in the region.
